The Gaelic name for the willow tree is Sail (pron. ‘sel’) Sail is a symbol of resilience. From one branch that has fallen onto marshy bog, this tree can grow. It is gentle and medicinal; an embodiment of comfort and love, yet in its adaptability there is great strength. In the ancient lunar calendar Willow represented 21st March – 17th April.
