Samson & Goliath are unmistakenably Belfast
The world famous twin shipbuilding gantry cranes located in the Harland and Wolff shipyard are named after the biblical figures Samson and Goliath. The collosal cranes dominate the Belfast skyline and are a symbol of the city's proud heritage. The Cranes are not technically listed buildings but the future of the iconic cranes was secured in 2003 when they were granted a preservation order under the Historic Monuments Act of Northern Ireland.
