Ruis - Elder - R

The Gaelic name for the elder bush is Ruis (pron. ‘rush’) Ruis is a symbol of healing. Ruis is known both for abundant healing properties and for the strong energies which gather around it. Often portrayed as a meeting point between worlds, Ruis is associated with death yet also with the creative powers of rebirth. In the ancient lunar calendar Elder represented 3rd October – 30th October.
