The Gaelic name for the willow tree is Sail (pron. ‘sel’) Sail is a symbol of resilience. From one branch that has fallen onto marshy bog, this tree can grow. It is gentle and medicinal, an embodiment of comfort and love, yet in its adaptability there is great strength. In the ancient lunar calendar Willow represented 21st March – 17th April.
